Okay, so I know that this blog is about TTC stops, but I couldn’t help but take some pictures when I was at Kensington Market today. BUT I CAN’T LIST KM UNDER A TTC STOP, because it’s too far away from all of the stops. Darn it.
But before I begin with those pictures…
I KNOW I WENT TO KENSINGTON TO GET SOME CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR MY SISTER (which I did end up getting, although they’re really small, and they’re more like… little trinket things, but STILL, they count), BUT I COULDN’T PASS BUYING THIS SHIRT FOR MYSELF:
It’s from this great little shop called Model Citizen. I’m bothering to tell you the name of the shop because there are this amazing custom silk-screened shirts that have peoples’ faces and names on them, and they’re ACTUAL PEOPLE.
Well, drawings of actual people. but it still counts.
And then the tags have a little bit of information about each person. I just think that’s so cool. It was so tempting, but that subway shirt already cost me kind of a lot because it was hand-done. I don’t feel that bad about buying it though, because I’ve been pretty good about cutting down my spending lately.
Anyway, the woman at the desk (I’m pretty sure she must have been one of the owners) was really nice, and her and I and this random other man spoke for a couple of minutes. You notice that – if you go to Kensington during the day when there aren’t many people there – the workers are always so happy to talk to you. And most of them are really, really good looking. Just saying.
I CAN’T HELP IT, I’M 18 AND MY HORMONES ARE IN CONTROL.
Moving on…
On my way to Kensington, I ran into SO many people I knew. Now, this rarely happens, seeing as U of T is so big and people almost never run into each other, so I guess today was just my lucky day. I ended up running into one of my best friends from my residence, who suggested that we make stir-fry tonight. Thus, I offered to pick up some fresh vegetables for said stir-fry.
She asked me to look for Mung Beans. I found some sprouts that didn’t look too good. So I bought a pepper and green onion instead.
Kensington is prime location for picking up good fruits and vegetables. Apparently St. Lawrence Market is better, but I haven’t been yet, so I guess I can’t judge.
Basically, Kensington has whatever you want. A lot of it’s cheap, but some of it isn’t. I went to this shop called… I don’t remember, but it started with a B… and saw this entire rack of heinous Christmas sweaters.
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW DIFFICULT IT WAS FOR ME NOT TO BUY ONE. I had to keep reminding my self that I already have a couple. And a couple is a couple too many the majority of the year anyway.
The main reason I went to Kensington, like I said before, was to pick up some gifts for my sister. WHO IS ACTUALLY THE WORST PERSON TO SHOP FOR, BECAUSE SHE DOESN’T LIKE ANYTHING. But the store I knew I would find something in was The Blue Banana Market. AKA, quite possibly the most wonderful store in this whole world. Seriously. It’s the best.
…. and that picture just shows a little bit of the first floor.
When I need to places and mugs and stuff like that (which probably won’t be anytime soon, unfortunately), this is where I’m going to get all new stuff. Seriously, go out of your way to check this place out. It’s so worth it.
To be honest, I don’t have much else to say about KM, except that it’s amazing. I’ll just post the rest of my pictures and write in captions.:

Where you can smoke pot and not get in trouble. To those of you my age reading this, you don't have be 19. They'll let you in without a guardian as long as you're at least 18. If you're younger than 18, I'm pretty sure you're also allowed in, but you need to be accompanied by an adult.
… that’s all, I guess. I kind of want to go change into my new shirt. Really, really badly.

Gee, I hope the url link that I put in worked. :S anyways, its reevah from indigo! Hiii! Your blog is adorable! It really has this down to earth- I’m excited to explore toronto- kind of vibe too it.
